Meals for students in South Sudan. If you plan to donate more than $10, it would be ideal if you could donate in $10 increments in order to maximize the number of votes we receive. The first $10 will give you 5 votes, and each additional donation (minimum of $10) will get you one additional vote.
One of the most pressing issues in South Sudan is food insecurity: earlier this year, UN agencies officially declared a famine in parts of South Sudan. To help address food insecurity for our students, we have been providing lunch to our students in the past two months. Our lunch meals have consisted of beans with rice or ugali (a dish made of cornmeal). In order to expand, we need to provide more meals. All ND Day donations will go toward supplying more food for next year.
This week, we’re partnering with Notre Dame Day and World Hunger Coalition to raise money for our school’s feeding program. If you donate $10 to us, you get 5 votes. Each vote for us increases our share of $1 million that we will receive from the University of Notre Dame. The more votes you give, the larger our share becomes. Your $10 donation is worth up to $70 if you donate this week.
